    Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday that falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It is a day to commemorate the life and death of the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan.

    Qu Yuan was a patriotic poet who lived during the Warring States period (475-221 BC). He served as a high official in the state of Chu but was later exiled by the king. During his exile, Qu Yuan wrote some of his most famous poems, which expressed his love for his country and his sorrow at being forced to leave it.
    In 278 BC, the state of Chu was conquered by the state of Qin. Qu Yuan was so distraught by this news that he drowned himself in the Miluo River. His followers searched for his body for days but were unable to find it.
    To commemorate Qu Yuan's death, people began to hold dragon boat races on the annive
rsary of his death. These races were believed to help search for his body and to honor his spirit. Over time, the Dragon Boat Festival became a national holiday in China.
    Today, the Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated with dragon boat races, eating zongzi (glutinous rice dumplings), and drinking realgar wine. It is also a time for families to gather and to remember the life and death of Qu Yuan.
    Here is a famous poem by Qu Yuan that is often recited during the Dragon Boat Festival:

    沅有芷兮澧有兰，思公子兮未敢言。
    重华不可兮，莲实南塘。
    哀南夷之莫吾知兮，旦余济兮江之沱。

    驾飞龙兮北征，遂越邓兮入芷乡。
    过夏首兮西浮，沅湘兮南下。
    朝发枉渚兮夕宿辰阳。
