The movie “the pursuit of happiness” is adapted from the
same novel. The author is black American investment expert Chris Gardner. And this novel is based on t
he true story, in which Chris himself is the leading actor. His biography successfully describes how a loser who lose his wife and his fortune, finally become famous financier. He is a very responsible and caring single father and hardworking stockbroker.

The spelling mistake in the word “happyness ” of the title in fact is made on purpose, because the author wants to imply a very important scene and the main idea of the novel. Part one: Actor
Originally, Will Smith is an talented black rappa. And later, he slowly entered the filmdom, and became a contagious comedy star. Will Smith does not often appear in such literary film. He decided to be the actor and producer of “The Pursuit of Happiness”，because the script is adapted from the biography of real impressed celebrity.
The little boy who has the wonderful interactive performance with Will Smith, was will’s son—Jaden Simth in the real life. Because it’s on the scene with son, Will had the true feelings. And the original feeling of togetherness between father and son will be truly reproduced in the movie. It’s the first time f
or Will Smith and his son Jaden on the same stage .Their touching performance had caused the tear effect immediately.
Part two: The major plot of the movie
Chris Gardner, a struggling single father in 80s San Francisco, overcame poverty and homelessness and become a successful
stockbroker.
Gardner is a salesman for a piece of medical equipment which is too expensive for what it is worth. After going months without any sales, his wife decides to start a better life, leaving him alone to raise their son, Christopher. After Gardner’s wife leaves, he
continues to try to sell the medical device. He then sees an opening to his future as a stock broker. The only problem is that, in order to be considered for the job, he must complete a highly competitive, six-month, unpaid internship. He does
everything he can to prove to his boss, himself, and his son, that he can be a better man, even if this means living in hotels, homeless shelters, or even the
bathroom of a subway station. While completing the internship, he continues to attempt to sell the equipment to make ends meet and pay for his son’s day care. This is a classic story of a family living in poverty working their way up the social ladder towards happiness, and doing whatever it takes to reach the top.
Chris Gardner had nothing but his son ’s love, trust and support.
He knew this was their only way to pursue happiness. So he worked very hard and finally he made success.

I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me is Chris Gardner’s strong belief towards life. We can figure out that it is not easy to have a good life, but everyone can find his own way to get it.
First, sincere. Chris always said to his client sincerely: Thank you. His client touched by his sincerity and this character become his basis for his success.
Second, self-motivation. He says that people can ’t do something by themselves; they want to tell you can not do it. He can ignore others foolish advises and make him full of passion.
Third, never give up. We see more than once in the film that Chris do not give up life, do not give up on dreams. Such as “Y ou
want something. Go get it.” and “Don ‘t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something, not even me.”Forth, be strong. When his wife left him because of the life, when he is driven out the house because he can not afford the rent, he did not fall, but stay with his son in the shelter, and after comforting his son to sleep he began maintaining his scanner.
